Edison Lecture Series 2010

Thank you to all schools and exhibitors who helped make Edison Lecture Series 2010 a great success.

Edison Lecture Series 2011

Next year we hope to have the biggest and best Edison lecture Series yet. The topic will be "Software IS Engineering." More details will come.

In the past 5 years, the Edison Lecture Series has inspired and informed 18,000 middle and high school students. Twelve thousand have attended a live free hour-long show on The University of Texas at Austin campus. Another 6,000 students participated in two day-long video conferences presented by the Texas Education Telecommunications Network.

The Lecture's mission is to get students excited about technology as a career choice. We concentrate on Wow! Companies and governmental organizations show up to demonstrate robots, green screen video technology, virtual reality, solar cars, and more in interactive pre-show demonstrations. In the Lecture itself, we have explored Television and Surveillance, Renewable Energy, Microprocessors, Communications, and Changing the World One Engineer at a Time using activities and dramatic examples for illustration.

It is a chance for students to visit a university campus and for teachers to enrich their science curriculum.
